Summit County Animal Control hosting monthly free pet food giveaways

Summit County Animal Control is hosting a drive-thru distribution of free pet food and supplies monthly on the last Tuesday of every month, starting from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Summit County Animal Control, 250 Opportunity Parkway, Akron.

Last year, the organization created a Community Pet Food Pantry to help residents offset the costs of pet products, especially food and cat litter. The pantry is made possible by Animal Control’s GOODS program, a partnership with Greater Goods Charities that provides pet supplies to distribute to local rescues and pantries. Animal Control is working with Peanut’s Pet Pantry to distribute the supplies. Heavy Duty Dog Cage
