Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 may get metal frames instead of plastic - SamMobile

The Galaxy A series is undoubtedly one of Samsung's best-selling lineups and the Galaxy A5x models in particular have long been some of its most successful devices. Beyond the flagships, this remains one of the most sought-after series from the company.

Long billed as premium mid-range devices, their plastic frames are by no means premium, but that may be set to change in 2024. A new rumor claims that both the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 will ditch their plastic frames for metal. Some Galaxy A models may have a metal frame next year

The rumor comes via an X tipster who has a somewhat credible track record. Word on the street is that Samsung is no longer going to use plastic frames for these mid-range devices. Both the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 may come with metal frames instead.

If true, this change will instantly elevate the look and feel of these devices. This would be a welcome change for customers who had long been wishing for Samsung to follow through on it, particularly when you consider the fact that there have been phones in the Galaxy A series that had metal frames in the past.

Leaked renders of the Galaxy A35 have already shown that this mid-range lineup's design will now be brought more in line with the flagship models from Samsung. One major upgrade for the Galaxy A35 is the Infinity-O display where the front facing camera is placed inside a cutout. It gets rid of the U-shaped cutout of the previous models.

Both this device and the Galaxy A55 will likely be powered by Samsung's new Exynos 1480 chipset. It's paired with an AMD RDNA2-based GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. Android 14 One UI 6.0 will be pre-installed and the devices will likely be supported for four Android OS upgrades. Expect Samsung to unveil the new Galaxy A series soon after the Galaxy S24 lineup is unveiled in January next year.

Although most people are excited about the Galaxy S24, which will be launched in January, that isn't the only phone Samsung is working on. Some affordable and mid-range Galaxy devices will be launched in the coming months, including the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A25, and Galaxy A35. Now, the design of the Galaxy A35 has been […]

The Galaxy A55 will not bring an upgrade in charging speeds over the Galaxy A54, as revealed by the phone's 3C certification. While Samsung decided to skip launching a new Galaxy A7x smartphone in 2023 and has probably canceled the A7x line permanently, the Galaxy A5x lineup will continue next year with the addition of […]

Samsung's next flagship chip will be the Exynos 2400, which will power some of the Galaxy S24 models next year. Samsung is also working on the Exynos 1480, a sequel to the Exynos 1380 that powers devices like the Galaxy A54, and it may end up being more interesting despite being a mid-range chip. The […]

The Galaxy A50 marked the beginning of an era in which Samsung's mid-range phones were desirable again. The A50 boasted plenty of modern features and had a reasonable price tag, and since then, every new phone in the Galaxy A5x lineup has brought with it meaningful upgrades, challenging the notion that consumers need to buy […]

Merely months after the Galaxy A34 launched, the rumor mill is already spinning up to provide us with information on the phone's sequel. Yes, we're talking about the Galaxy A35, which isn't expected until March 2024 unless Samsung changes its plans and decides to launch the device earlier than usual. GalaxyClub has published a new […]

Samsung has been using in-house Exynos chips for most of its mid-range smartphones for years, including the Galaxy A50, Galaxy A53, and the Galaxy A54. But, given the negative impressions around Exynos chips, would it return to Qualcomm chips for its future mid-range phones? Well, it doesn't look like that will happen, at least with […]
