DTH hammer debuts from Mincon

Exhibiting in the Bronze Hall adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center, Mincon has a number of hammers on display. The MP56-MQ features a 4.9-in. hammer outside diameter and a 40.1-in. hammer length. It takes a QL50 drill bit shank and features a minimum bit size of 5.5 in.

According to Mincon, the MP-MQ range of DTH hammers includes the company’s flagship models. The MP-MQ range is designed and manufactured in-house by Mincon at its facilities in Ireland. This includes components undergoing Mincon’s heat treatment processes for the best possible durability and wear resistance, the company says.

MP-MQ hammers are an evolution of Mincon’s hammer design, the company adds, drawing on more than four decades of expertise in DTH hammer engineering for mining, quarry and other applications.

The MP-MQ hammers in the MP range are designed to be used with bits that lack a foot valve. They’re available in a range of shank designs, including TD40 and QL50.

Mincon introduced its own DTH hammer designs in the 1990s. Today, Mincon’s range has grown to include sizes for almost every possible application, the company says.
