Three of the seven starters arrive off the back of early-season success, and that includes the strongly fancied pair Supremely West and Bugise Seagull, who are currently jostling for the favourite tag at around 6/4 and 2/1 respectively. Home Gyms

Southwell racing tip: High Treason poised to step up on hurdle debut

Kicking off his career with three bumper wins, Supremely West had to settle for second place on his hurdle debut in May, but he hit the ground running after a five-month break to land back-to-back wins at Carlisle and Sedgefield over the last few weeks.

Bugise Seagull looks to be a highly progressive type who enjoyed a successful debut three weeks ago at Catterick, where he saw off the challenge of 14 rivals with more than four lengths to spare, and he should go well again in the capable hands of leading jump jockey Sean Bowen.

Of the others, Thank You Blue also lines up with a last-time out success under his belt, having made a winning start on hurdle and stable debut at Sedgefield, while promising point-to-point form and the notable presence of PlanetSportBet ambassador Harry Cobden in the saddle makes Just In A Bit appear an interesting prospect.

Getting the nod of our designated Tipstrr pundit, however, Nigel Twiston-Davies’ High Treason, who comes from good pedigree, and did enough in two bumper outings last term to suggest he can progress nicely over obstacles.

This nice-looking four-year-old placed in both of those spring outs at Ffos Las and Chepstow, and with the trainer’s son Sam again in the saddle, good things are expected from him as he steps up in trip on his hurdling bow.

The Twiston-Davies yard is in good form, with a couple of wins from their last starts, including the father-and-son team’s success with Broadway Boy in the biggest race on Saturday’s Cheltenham’s card.
