BELTON: Allowed June 28-July 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks allowed on Sundays after noon. Not allowed: bottle rockets, skyrockets, Roman candles. No fireworks may be discharged on public property including streets or parks.

BLUE SPRINGS: Allowed July 1-3 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10:00 a.m.-midnight. Not allowed: bottle rockets and aerial luminaries.

CLAY COUNTY: All municipalities have their own ordinances, please refer to cities for more information.

GLADSTONE: Not allowed within city limits.

GRAIN VALLEY: Allowed the first Saturday in July each year (July 1) through July 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

GRANDVIEW: Not allowed within city limits.

INDEPENDENCE: Allowed July 3 and July 5 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight.

JACKSON COUNTY: It is prohibited to possess fireworks in the county, which makes it illegal to shoot them off.

KANSAS CITY: Not allowed within city limits.

LEE’S SUMMIT: Allowed July 2-3 between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Allowed on July 4 between 10 a.m. and midnight. Must obtain a fireworks-use permit for free from a licensed fireworks vendor, or from city hall. Not allowed: bottle rockets, Roman candles, illuminating torches, missiles with fins or rudders, single or multi-shot parachutes with night effects.

LIBERTY: Allowed July 3-4 from 4-10 p.m. Aerial fireworks are only allowed from 4-10 p.m. on plots of land three acres or bigger.

NORTH KANSAS CITY: Not allowed within city limits.

PARKVILLE: Allowed July 1-3 and July 5 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. Only fireworks allowed are ground-based devices like snakes, smoke bombs, etc.

PECULIAR: Allowed July 1-3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks are prohibited on public streets, sidewalks, public parks or public grounds within city limits.

PLATTE CITY: Allowed June 20-July 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 between 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks are prohibited on any public park or public grounds of the city.

RAYMORE: Allowed July 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. noon to 10 p.m. July 3. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks are prohibited on public street, sidewalks, or public grounds of the city without City Council’s approval.

RAYTOWN: Allowed from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4 and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 5th. Must get a permit from city hall or fire department. Bottle rockets, Roman candles, Sky Lanterns and any form of stick missiles are illegal.

RIVERSIDE: Allowed from June 26-July 2 & July 5 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 3-4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. No bottle rockets allowed, and fireworks can’t be discharged within 600 feet of any church, hospital, medical facility, public school, library or day care facility or within 300 feet of where fireworks are stored.

BASEHOR: Allowed June 30, July 1-3 and July 5 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed between 9 a.m. to midnight on July 4.

BONNER SPRINGS: Allowed July 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Bottle rockets are not allowed.

DESOTO: Allowed 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 2-3 and 10 a.m. midnight July 4. Bottle rockets and aerial luminary, sky lanterns, sky candles or fire balloons are prohibited.

EDWARDSVILLE: Allowed July 1-4 between 9 a.m. and midnight. Fireworks may not be discharged in any city parks or city properties, such as a city parking lot. They also may not be discharged within 200 feet of a retail stand or facility where fireworks are stored.

GARDNER: Allowed July 2-4 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not allowed on any public property within city limits, including public streets and sidewalks. JOHNSON COUNTY: Fireworks are prohibited in all unincorporated areas of the county.

KANSAS CITY: Allowed July 2-4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not allowed: bottle rockets, skyrockets. It is illegal to shoot fireworks on any public road, alley or sidewalk, within 150 feet of a fireworks stand or within 100 feet of a gas station.

LANSING: Fireworks can be discharged within Lansing city limits from July 1-4 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m., except on July 4 when fireworks can be discharged within city limits from noon until 11 p.m. Bottle rockets, sky lanterns, skyrockets and Roman candles are not allowed.

LAWRENCE: Not allowed within city limits. Novelty items (party poppers, snappers, snakes, sparklers, toy caps and toy smoke devices) are allowed.

LEAVENWORTH: Not allowed within city limits.

FORT LEAVENWORTH: Personal fireworks also are prohibited on Fort Leavenworth.

LEAWOOD: Not allowed within city limits.

LENEXA: Not allowed within city limits, except for novelty fireworks like snakes, smoke bombs, etc.

MERRIAM: Not allowed within city limits.

MISSION: Not allowed within city limits.

MISSION HILLS: Not allowed within city limits. But sparklers, flowerpots, fountains, colored fire cones, snakes, cap pistols and caps allowed July 3-4.

OLATHE: Not allowed within city limits.

OVERLAND PARK: Only fireworks allowed are snappers, snakes, toy pistols with caps, toy canes with caps.

PRAIRIE VILLAGE: Not allowed within city limits.

ROELAND PARK: Allowed July 4 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Basic firecrackers, sparklers, snakes, and snaps are allowed.

SHAWNEE: Allowed July 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not allowed bottle rockets, sky lanterns, and M80’s.

SPRING HILL: Allowed Friday June 30 through Wednesday, July 5 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. To light fireworks, the city requires you to be 18 years or older or be under adult supervision.

TONGANOXIE: Allowed June 30-July 4 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Bottle rockets not allowed. Not allowed to shoot them off on public property and city streets.
