Wel-Pet received the certification in Q3 of 2022, but it was only during the recent World Veterinary Association Congress that the company officially took its place on the world stage by showcasing its hard-earned advantage over other pet food manufacturers in the region.
At the Congress, Wel-Pet displayed its latest research and development technology and a comprehensive intelligent formula database to introduce more pet owners and veterinarians to the benefits of its “SQF Quality Shield” supplements to improve the overall quality of the pet health food market.
Wel-Pet's approach to classifying pet health products into three main categories: daily care, professional care and breed-specific care, with customized formulas to meet the unique nutritional needs of pets in various states of health, got the nod of the international assembly of veterinarians. When buying pet food, the animal doctors are encouraging pet owners to choose health foods manufactured by SQF-certified factories.
To received the SQF certification, Well-Pet went through a rigorous process of strict compliance with standards across four categories and 53 testing items, encompassing raw materials, finished products, packaging materials and water quality. At present, only 0.4% of pet food factories worldwide meet the standards for Level 3 certification, the company said. The “SQF Quality Shield” can only be marked on products with SQF Level 3 certification, which signifies the safety of both the production process and the product’s quality.
With its SQF Level 3 certification, Well-Pet joins a small group of about 50 pet food producers with the same achievement. There are over 8,000 SQF-certified sites worldwide, mostly for human food production.
Established in 2018, Wel-Pet's focus is to develop a series of pet health products that have undergone strict palatability and efficacy tests. For this, the company also earned the coveted Taiwan Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) certificate which subject companies to various evaluations and tests conducted by 120 experts from different fields.
